Gerard Butler Visits Haiti, Says He's Learned a Real Lesson

Gerard Butler took a trip to Haiti this week to visit schools with Mary’s Meals and he shared a video online to share his experience.

The 49-year-old actor has had a difficult couple of weeks after his Malibu home was damaged in the wildfires in California, but he says he learned a real lesson during his trip.

“What an eventful couple of weeks. Been cheered up to no end by these beautiful souls who despite living in a country that has gone through so much hardship, have nothing but love to give. A real lesson for me right now,” Gerard captioned the video on his Facebook account.

“So pleased to be in Haiti with Mary’s Meals visiting schools to see the wonderful work they do. Communities are transformed by what Mary’s Meals does to feed children in a place of education. It’s such a simple idea that works really well. I’ve seen it in action in Liberia, and now Haiti,” he added.
